Anthony’s Pier 9 is Committed To Your Safety

Anthony’s Pier 9 is reopening in accordance with the NYS guidelines and phases.

We have received confirmation from Orange County that we are open and operating in Phase 3in accordance with the NY Forward Reopening Plan, as of June 23rd.

Phase 4 will bring a new set of guidelines, some that may stay the same as phase 3 and some that may change. We are currently working with NY State, The Governor’s office, and Local County Officials as to be in compliance in regards to current/future guidelines. The guidelines are ever changing, and we are trying our best to get you the most current information.

We have developed plans company-wide on physical distancing, cleaning, screening, operations and service standards in accordance with the NYS guidelines, to protect our staff as well as you and your guests. Guidelines on Phase 3 restrictions were released on June 9th.

Our office is open, and we are here every day to answer questions over the phone or in person.

Here are some FAQ about how the NYS guidelines will shape your wedding

Who will it be up to enforce these guidelines?

This will need to be a mutual effort between you as hosts, your guests and Anthony’s Pier 9.  We will have signage as guests enter the building as well as in locations pertinent to hygiene and cleanliness.  The management will be happy to speak with any of your guests should they have questions.  We will have staff explaining procedures to your guests.  We will explain all of these procedures to you in advance.

What messaging will the signage include?

Bonura Hospitality has developed our own custom signage consistent with DOH COVID-19 signage.

The information reminds guests and staff to:

  • Cover their nose and mouth with a face covering while not seated at a table.
  • Properly store and, when necessary, discard PPE.
  • Adhere to physical distancing instructions.
  • Report symptoms of or exposure to COVID-19, and how they should do so.
  • Follow hand hygiene and cleaning and disinfection guidelines.
  • Follow appropriate respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette.

Will guests and staff be required to wear face masks?

Anthony’s Pier 9 will ensure that all staff wear face coverings at all times. We will provide masks for all front and back of house staff, including valet and shuttle drivers.

NY State mandates guests to wear face coverings when not seated at a table as long as the guest is over the age of two and able to medically tolerate such covering. Anthony’s Pier 9 will enforce this guideline. Once seated, NY State does not require guests to wear face coverings.

Will there be extra hand sanitizers and tissues available for guests or will the wedding party be expected to provide these?

Anthony’s Pier 9 will provide these for your guests.  We will have hand sanitizers in all spaces and tissues in the rest rooms.  If you would like us to put out tissue boxes in other areas, we are happy to.

How often will high touch areas be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized?

Anthony’s Pier 9 will ensure adherence to hygiene and cleaning and disinfection requirements as advised by the CDC and DOH, including “Guidance for Cleaning and Disinfection of Public and Private Facilities for COVID-19,” and the “STOP THE SPREAD” poster, as applicable. Anthony’s Pier 9 will maintain logs that include the date, time, and scope of cleaning and disinfection.

We will clean and sanitize continuously, at least every hour, and as further needed.

How will you set up the ceremony site?

The ceremony site will be set up in rows of chairs similar manner to your dining room.  Rows of chairs will be set up with no more than ten in close proximity to each other while each of these rows will be at least six feet from another row.

Will food stations, passed hors d’oeuvres, and finger-food type items be eliminated?

No, we have successfully modified our service style to execute your menu. Menu items will be handed to the guests by Anthony’s Pier 9 staff, and passed food will be individually plated and handed to guests by Anthony’s Pier 9 staff.  There will be no scenario where guests will handle service utensils or graze from large platters in cocktail hour.  Staff, wearing gloves and masks would serve.

Will my guest’s table look different than I am expecting?

According to current NYS guidelines, all guest silverware will be rolled in a napkin and placed at each place setting instead of being set as you might expect with forks on the left and knives on the right.

Will there still be valet parking and shuttle service?

According to NYS guidelines: Any person utilizing private transportation carriers or other for-hire vehicles, who is over age two and able to medically tolerate a face covering, shall wear a mask or face covering over the nose and mouth during any such trip; any person who is operating such public or private transport, shall likewise wear a face covering or mask which covers the nose and mouth while there are any passengers in such vehicle.

You have the option to opt out of valet parking, and your guests can self-park.
