Out with the old and in with the new, breaking away from tradition. Over the last few years, we’ve seen more and more clients pulling away from what’s expected of a wedding and leaving guests wondering what’s next. Having a wedding on a Thursday is a perfect example of breaking tradition. It’s understandable that there are many concerns with having a weekday wedding, whether it be inconveniencing the guests with work schedules or worrying that guests won’t come. However, the overall outcome of a weeknight affair could be more beneficial to you in the long run. As far as being concerned with guests responding “no” to your invitation, I wouldn’t worry about it too much. By giving your family and friends enough notice and if they love you and are happy for you they will be there. With giving them enough time to make arrangements there shouldn’t be a problem with them coming. Not only is having a weeknight events significantly cheaper, but by having the wedding on a day like a Thursday the whole weekend opens up to spending time with those that have traveled in from out of town. This will then create a mini vacation for those guests and allows you to have a family reunion.

With much observation from passed events, we can definitely say that the overall turn out of a Thursday night weddings have been a huge success. Lets take a look at a wedding from this passed June. The wedding was on a Thursday, with a 5:00 pm start time and had 156 guests attend. The following day they had a barbecue with the family and was able to relax the rest of the weekend before taking off on their honeymoon. Take a look at how beautiful their room turned out to be.
